As an artist that utilizes vintage ephemeral materials in the research and development of my work, the biggest gripe that I’ve had was finding a way to safely store all of the vintage travel postcards I’ve acquired through the years and was so extremely happy to find these. There are plenty of 3.5″ x 5″ compatible sleeves out there but with things like vintage travel postcards that are 3.5″ x 5.5″ you’ll still have .5″ exposed out of your sleeves, so to find these, not to mention finding them ONLY here, was a huge relief. My only gripe with these is that in comparison with the 5×7 archival sleeves I use for larger cards and such these are incredibly thin. The thinness of these sometime make it difficult for flipping through and finding what I need without them folding in half. I have to be careful when flipping and closing the book that they aren’t folded so to not damage the cards. I know this is minute but I have these in a standard 3 ring binder but because of their thin nature they “sag” some when pulling out the binder. They’re in the same binder as the rigid 5″x7″ sleeves but I find that unlike those these “sag” enough to hang out of the bottom edge of the binder risking damage when sliding out and most especially when sliding back onto the shelf causing high risk of snagging. This is a wonderful provided product for artistic speciality but could be improved or further developed to really set these apart. In general I’m grateful to PrintFile for providing such a broad range of products.
